Meet Anja
As a multiracial, multicultural woman born in Tokyo and raised between Japan and Belgium, I bring a global lens and deep respect for diverse experiences to my work. Growing up in a mixed-race, single-parent household taught me early on the values of adaptability, resilience, and emotional insight.

I moved to the U.S. to pursue my passion for psychology, earning degrees from the University of Michigan and Columbia University. Since 2016, I’ve provided therapy to individuals and couples, currently serving as a Clinical Director at a college in NYC and teaching graduate students at Columbia.

My lived experience with complex family dynamics and relational challenges led to my passion for relationship therapy. I help clients build emotional and physical intimacy, heal from the past, and feel more grounded in their connections.

I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities, offering a warm, inclusive space where you can feel truly seen and understood.

My Approach
I believe everyone deserves to feel authentic and fulfilled, in their relationships and within themselves.

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both curiosity and clarity. I draw from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches to help clients explore patterns, build insight, and create meaningful change.

I offer a safe, affirming space where individuals and couples can feel heard, challenged when needed, and supported in building the skills and self-understanding to thrive.

Relationship Coaching
I am also a Relationship Coach and offer coaching services, which are more fast-paced and goal-oriented than traditional therapy, focusing on practical strategies to achieve results quickly and effectively.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy can be a powerful tool for improving communication and reducing conflicts between partners. Regardless of how long you've been together, my goal is to strengthen your connection, fostering a lasting, loving, and secure intimacy that endures over time.
Clinical Supervision
I provide ongoing clinical supervision for practicing clinicians looking for extra support and guidance. Our ability to effectively support clients depends on our own personal and professional growth, making continuous development crucial for providing the best care.
